This painting found a good home via a fund-raising event for a middle school here on the island. They were raising funds for an afterschool arts program for the kids. Gotta love that.!

With this ability to harnass the fire, wind and water elements, Blackbird is a very strong ally in the awakening and revelation of hidden skills and talents.
In the collage, we see the blackbird represented as a bird within a bird; very symbolic for if the blackbird enters your life, he is assisting you to develop your hidden talents and reveal your skills to the outer world.
Yesterday was a busy day setting up the show.
Hmm. Lots of paintings. Where to start?
Fortunately, we had help to set up the show. Rachel Vadeboncoeur organized about 40 pieces of our work into a beautiful display.
Here's Lloyd Nicholson doing some last minute tweaking. I think he spent more time standing on stools and ladders than on the ground. Ken Ketchum is somewhere playing with the lighting.
All ready for the long weekend. If you are in town, come by for the reception on Saturday 2-5pm. Show opens Friday 17th-21st, 10-4pm daily.
The honeybee works for the benefit and well-being for all, ensuring that her actions in her short life-time create a healthy and secure future for generations to follow.
This natural and simplistic goodness for a holistic wellbeing of self and others taps into the deep threads of life where all beings are as one, on hive, one harmonious entity. In the image we can see the golden threads of the Earth mapped against the background of space and time; our universal energetic resonance.
Sometimes my paintings whisper to me, calling me over... "We are not done yet", they sometimes tell me.
And so I must hold my breath and take the plunge, trusting that what will come will be even better than before, and that I can indeed do what is asked.
is the gift of working with the heart.
Of becoming more than who we think we are and becoming deeper.
Such a little bird with the biggest teaching.
And always flying, such a liberation of spirit.
Let us bless
The Imagination of the Earth.
That knew early the patience
To harness the mind of time,
Waited for the seas to warm,
Ready to welcome the emergence
Of things dreaming of voyaging
Among the stillness of land.
And how light knew to nurse
The growth until the face of the Earth
Brightened beneath a vision of color.
When the ages of ice came
And sealed the Earth inside
An endless coma of cold,
The heart of the Earth held hope,
Storing fragments of memory,
Ready for the return of the sun...
My honey bees are exploding above their hive in every direction, joyous in the sunlight. Like sparks from a crackling fire. How perfect!
A new art project is underway for the SaltSpring Gallery's collaborative group show in June. My joint collab is with the very wonderful Ken Ketchum. Here is a very top secret pencil sketch!
