Here are a couple of images of the nature show I did with Doug Wahlsten. It was well received. Folks really enjoyed so many aspects of it from the nature collection assemblages displayed like art pieces, to my working, personal nature journals to the artwork on the walls. Here, you can see my nature illustration book on sale as well as cards and small watercolours.
Maggie Dog
My companion getting a bit of fresh air and watching for deer and possibly contemplating the strange coloured portal that has opened up in the right hand corner of the picture!
Autumn Fog
I need to quickly finish off updating 2013! Lots of new things under way for 2014 so let's wrap things up.
Of course there were many walks and paintings done.
This foggy day was very magical. The fog lifted by the afternoon and I was in the perfect place to watch a blue sky emerge.
Last show for the year.
August Viewing
Currently ten of my pieces are being shown at Talia Cafe, downtown Ganges. You can't miss it, it has a fab rusty tin roof.
If you are in town, sit and have a coffee and one of their wonderful gluten-free treats.

"Enter The Dragon" video sequence
Both Ken Ketchum and I have had many questions asking how we worked on the Dragon together. Did we each start at one end and meet in the middle ? :)
No...but that might have been really neat too.
So I thought I would put together some of the photos we took as the Dragon progressed into this world. Enjoy!
Celestial Whale
Here is a little something I have been working on for a while and finally decided to finish. It is part of the animal totem collection but painted on wood panels with collage. Usually I do my collages just straight paper on paper. I thought I would do some mixed media to see if I like it. I think I do. It allows me to go larger than the smaller collage pieces. I love how the light caught the silver moon...exactly what I wanted. And soon, it is time for the whale to push up the sun and begin a new day.
Enter the Dragon
This Dragon has rather a strong personality to say the least. The more he came into being, the chattier ( bossier) he got. It was a collaboration piece between artist Ken Ketchum and myself, but the Dragon really directed the whole thing, "Paint this red, paint me blue, I want gold leaf". Yeash! But yes, he is rather splendid with his full eight feet stretched across the wall (and he knows it!).
"Tranquility"
This painting found a good home via a fund-raising event for a middle school here on the island. They were raising funds for an afterschool arts program for the kids. Gotta love that.!
